Technology allows us to redirect our focus from tedious computations to understanding the "bigger picture" of different mathematical concepts. During my Coordinating Seminar class at the Mount, I was able to create a lesson about the equation of a circle using GeoGebra. During this lesson, students will be able to understand how to find the equation of a circle by hand, and by using the GeoGebra graphing calculator. Students will be able to discover what happens to a circle when different variables are changed in the equation, and why these things happen. By completing this project, I was able to learn about the importance of clearly explaining different concepts step by step in order for the students to have a better understanding of the material.
